Data Engineer (ETL Developer)

About the Role We are seeking a Data Engineer (ETL Developer) to design, develop, and support scalable data and database solutions for healthcare-focused client initiatives. This role involves building modern data pipelines, optimizing relational databases, and contributing to cloud-based data platforms. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, test, and optimize relational database solutions using SQL Server and Azure SQL • Improve database performance, reliability, and scalability through indexing strategies and query tuning • Develop and maintain scalable ETL and ELT processes for data integration across cloud platforms • Build and support data pipelines using Azure SQL, Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, and PySpark • Design and implement relational and dimensional data models, including SCD patterns • Partner with application developers, BI teams, and analytics partners to deliver integrated solutions Requirements • 7+ years of relevant experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred • Experience with SQL Server or Azure SQL required • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, including query development and optimization • Hands-on experience with Python for data processing and analytics • Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar platforms • Experience working in Azure cloud environments • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
